JCI Netherlands website

JCI Netherlands is part of JCI (Junior Chamber International), the leading global network of entrepreneurial people to 40 years. JCI offers its members opportunities for development and make them capable of positive change in society.

The organization has no political or religious background. JCI has more than 160,000 members in over 110 countries and 5,000 local organizations. JCI Netherlands has been active over 50 years and has over 2300 members spread over 100 local organizations (or "chambers").

Analysis

The association used a Content Management System that is very difficult to maintain, and offered only limited functionality. There was need for improvement.

Solution

For JCI, a Joomla 1.5 website was built by Allroundmedia and db8. For the site a commercial template was obtained and changed to fit the JCI-style.

Moreover, a number of extensions has been installed (components, modules and plugins) to extend the functionality of the site, including: a tag cloud generator, a twitter module, a sitemap, a forms generator, a WYSIWYG editor with lightbox effect. The site was completed with a custom Digital Members Administration (DLA) by Webtastic.

A number of members from various Management Teams will receive training to contribute articles on the website.
